Immoral Compass

The Challenge

The goal was to establish a premium visual language for Immoral Compass, a dark comedy anthology series originally developed for Quibi and later acquired by Roku. The primary challenge was logistical. We faced a demanding schedule, capturing 20 distinct episodes in just two weeks during a global pandemic. Featuring new environments and high-profile talent like Bill Burr and Vince Vaughn, the project required a versatile and cohesive style to unify the series.

The Execution

To safely execute this massive undertaking, we shot primarily on soundstages at Capital Arts, with roughly 30 percent filmed on location. We utilized complex, motivated lighting designs to create a moody, atmospheric tone that gave weight to the absurd narratives. Prioritizing disciplined cinematography allowed us to maintain a high-end aesthetic despite the breakneck pace, delivering a polished show that successfully transitioned to traditional streaming.
